Fire Protection Engineer

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing design calculations, plans & specifications on a wide variety of complex projects for fire protection engineering systems for facilities under the direct supervision of a Senior Fire Protection Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of building fire suppression and fire alarm/mass notification systems
• Building code/life safety analyses

Requirements

• General understanding of NFPA codes and standards, particularly NFPA 13, NFPA 72, and NFPA 101
• Building Information Modeling (BIM) Revit
• AutoCAD
• 2+ years of experience designing fire suppression and fire alarm/mass notification systems

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative

Skills

• BS degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field
• Professional Engineering License (NCEES FPE Exam)
• Federal government and Department of Defense experience inclusive of COE and NAVFAC
