About the role
As a Field Project Manager for our Fire division, you will lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects across commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and military facilities. In this on-site role, you will define scope, coordinate execution, manage cost and schedule, and ensure each project is completed safely, on time, and within scope while meeting customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects from setup through closeout.
- Establish local project offices and coordinate project scope, risk identification, project methodology, and resource allocation.
- Manage schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee project progression across design, permits, material delivery, labor scheduling, and field installation.
- Conduct Work in Progress meetings and provide clear project updates to management and customers.
- Present project cycle status, expected results, and closeout progress to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Ensure projects are closed on time, in scope, and aligned with published codes, standards, and unique project specifications.
- Coordinate change orders and support margin improvement on every job.
- Coordinate proactively with design, permitting, procurement, and field teams so work moves smoothly from planning to installation.
- Build a comprehensive project plan that supports schedule, budget, safety, and quality expectations.
- Follow all published codes, standards, and project-specific requirements with consistency and attention to detail.
- Work closely with AHJ requirements and departmental/SOX procedures to keep projects compliant and well documented.
- Track job progress through WIP meetings, accurate reporting, and timely escalation of risks or obstacles.
- Own outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity, while staying close to the work and removing barriers for the customer.
- Look for opportunities to improve every day through candid problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across functions and perspectives to win as one team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate or diploma in a related field such as Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic, or Security.
- 5 years of installation experience in Fire, Electrical, or Security systems.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification expected within two years of employment.
- NICET Level II required within one year of employment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and Project.
- Ability to create Excel spreadsheets, reference data in other spreadsheets, and create macros.
- Availability for frequent local travel.

Pay
Hiring salary range: $90,000–120,000. Salary is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This role includes a competitive bonus plan based on individual, group, and corporate performance.
