Fire Pod Maintenance Tech

Pay Range: $20-30/hr
Pay is based on numerous factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Position Summary Information
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and complete basic repairs of commercial kitchen appliances inside trailers, including gas/electric ovens, fryers, griddles, warmers, and ventilation hoods.
- Service, troubleshoot, and repair transport refrigeration units to ensure precise temperature control for food safety compliance.
- Maintain on-board freshwater delivery pumps, gray-water drainage, handwash sinks, propane gas lines, and regulators.
- Aid with Fire Pod mobilization, set up, tear down, and demobilization of all equipment.
- Fuel generators as necessary.
- Ensure all equipment is serviced and functional while on standby.
Qualifications:
- Experience with deployment, setup/installation, and operation of shower trailers, restroom trailers, kitchen trailers, laundry trailers, or similar mobile emergency trailer equipment.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and Government representatives.
- Ability to operate in hot and cold environments, as well as post-disaster environments.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing requirements.
- Basic electrical knowledge, the ability to diagnose and fix issues.
- Experience with generators (6kW-500kW) and generator connections.
- Knowledge of and experience with electrical tools, plumbing tools, general construction tools, and jobsite safety equipment.
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience working in a field / non-standard environment.
- Experience with forklift and telehandler operation and the ability to be certified on multiple platforms.
- Experience with field maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
- Incident Command System (ICS) certifications preferred (ICS 100/200/IS 700.B etc.).
- Trade certifications/licenses e.g., electrical, generator maintenance, HVAC, etc. preferred.
Work Environment
Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Physical Requirements
Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
