- Perform code analyses for site modifications
- Support/perform design reviews

- Perform life safety code compliance inspections
- Perform fire investigations
- Issue hot work permits
- Issue combustible loading permits
- Inspect construction sites
- Cookordination of work of the deputy fire marshals
This position requires the ability to perform field work in varied conditions, including indoors and outdoors, surface and underground.
The fire marshal will report to the site Fire Protection Program Manager.
- Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering/Technology or other related engineering discipline with three (3) years of professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of professional experience
- Associate’s degree with nine (9) years of professional experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalency plus thirteen (13) years of professional experience
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without SIMCO visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the WIPP Site (even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)
