About the role
The Fire Life Safety Director is responsible for ensuring the safety and readiness of life safety systems and related equipment, managing fire brigades, and providing support during emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all life safety systems and related equipment are fully functional.
- Manage fire brigades, floor wardens, deputy floor wardens, and building evacuation supervisors.
- Conduct fire alarm drills and maintain a written log of critiques.
- Provide clear direction, information, and assistance to clients and visitors.
- Inspect visitor, vendor, and employee access badges/identification cards.
- Maintain surveillance and report on suspicious persons and packages.
- Perform CPR/AED and basic first aid if required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Licensed by the New York State Department of State.
- Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Flexible to changing environments and adaptable to different situations.
Qualifications
- Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs.
- Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions.
- Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public.
- Must maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard.
- Must remain flexible to ever changing environments.
- Must be able to provide quality customer service.
- Must be able to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site.
