About the role
This position is designed to provide hands-on training under direct supervision. The role will support experienced team members while learning applicable codes, standards, and safe work practices related to fire and life safety systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist with inspection and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment under direct supervision.
- Support senior technicians with service tasks including tagging, documentation, and basic compliance checks.
- Learn and follow NFPA standards, company procedures, and safety protocols.
- Transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed as directed.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in the field.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and needs.
- Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
- Use hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
- Travel to job sites as required.
- Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- No minimum experience required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving role).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and climbing ladders.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Ability to work in various environments including commercial, industrial, and construction settings.
- Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.
