About the role

The City of St Clair Shores seeks an innovative, self-motivated professional to serve as Fire Chief. The position will manage operations for a department of 50, with three fire stations, and report directly to the City Manager.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for managing operations of the Fire Department
• Serve as part of the senior management of the City
• Manage a department of 50 personnel across three fire stations
• Provide leadership and direction to the Fire Department
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Oversee emergency response operations
• Develop and implement policies and procedures
• Manage budget and financial resources
• Collaborate with other departments within the City

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Administration, Public Administration, Fire Science, or equivalent professional field
• State of Michigan Fire Officer III Certification or Equivalent Paramedic Certification
• Experience in Fire-Based ALS transport Command Level Experience of 5 years or more

Pay

The starting salary range is $102,397 to $120,468 annually/DOQ.
