Responsibilities

  • Perform repair work on fire trucks and other emergency apparatus by traveling to assigned site locations or in shop.
  • Troubleshoot problems specializing in emergency equipment.
  • Test and repair fire apparatus and equipment by traveling to the location of the customer.
  • Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.
  • Attend to the needs of the customer whenever required.
  • Confirm that equipment is functional.
  • Provide telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting.
  • Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after performing troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Willing to travel within an assigned territory.
  • Dependable.
  • Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to assume responsibility for high quality of repair process.
  • Able to work independently or with less supervision.
  • Able to manage service calls.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Clean driving record with a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license.
  • Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repair Industry.
  • Automotive HVAC is a plus.
  • Automotive/Heavy truck Service technician: 1 year (Required).
  • Automotive electrical systems: 1 year (Required).
  • Willing to train the right person.

Skills

  • EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) certification.
  • ASE Heavy Truck certifications.
  • Class B CDL.

Work Schedule

Monday-Thursday 7 am to 5 pm.

License/Certification
