Fire Alarm Technician (Siemens Fire Alarm Experienced )
About the role
MCS is hiring for a Fire Alarm Technician (Siemens Fire Alarm Experienced ) in Orlando, FL. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operation manuals.
- Identify and implement cost-saving strategies to maximize productivity and strengthen customer relationships.
- Install, pull, terminate, test, and troubleshoot cables and vendor products.
- Configure, program, and commission new life safety systems.
- Document commissioning details and communicate project progress and deficiencies.
- Ensure adherence to NFPA, Local AHJ codes, corporate policies, and OSHA safety standards.
- Perform test and inspections of fire alarm and related systems.
- Set up and manage monitoring accounts for fire and security systems.
- Respond to service calls, including fire alarm systems, ERCES/BDA, card access, CCTV, intrusion, and nurse call systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification Requirements:
- Required:
- FASA/BASA Certification
- Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge
- Siemens Fire Alarm Experienced
- Preferred:
- NICET Certification
- FCC GROL Certification
- Siemens Certification
- Other life safety or systems-related certifications
- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of Fire Alarm System experience, including programming and configuration of Siemens systems.
- Proficiency with NFPA 72, Life Safety Code 101, and IBC.
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds as needed.
- Familiarity with a wide range of fire alarm manufacturers (e.g., Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, FCI-Gamewell, Simplex, Notifier, EST) is highly desired.
Qualifications
- Must possess the capability to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended durations.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to operate in noisy environments with temperatures higher or lower than standard office conditions.

Schedule
Regular attendance following an established work schedule is mandatory. Work may include night and weekend shifts, and could involve travel to areas with varying field conditions.
Physical Requirements
- May require climbing ladders, working at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks.
- Must possess the capability to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended durations.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC/laptop. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files.
Equipment and Machines
- General office equipment includes but is not limited to PCs/laptops, telephones, copiers, servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that supports the network environment.
- General field equipment includes but is not limited to hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial/motorized lifts, and test equipment.
Travel
Travel requirements will vary. Not all positions require travel. A current passport is required for Overseas travel.
