Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test fire alarm system cabling and devices
- Program, commission, and troubleshoot fire alarm control panels and networked systems
- Install and service initiating devices, notification appliances, and control equipment
- Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with NFPA 72 requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and construction drawings
- Diagnose system faults and implement corrective actions
- Complete service reports, testing documentation, and as-built drawings
- Cookordinate with project managers, inspectors, customers, and other trades
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial fire alarm installation and service experience
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following platforms: Bosch, EST, Honeywell, Silent Knight
- Knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable fire alarm codes
- Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams
- Experience troubleshooting fire alarm systems and field devices
- Basic computer proficiency for programming, documentation, and reporting
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel throughout the Austin area as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL)
- NICET Fire Alarm Certification (Level II or higher preferred)
- Manufacturer certifications from Siemens, Edwards/EST, Honeywell, or Silent Knight
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with voice evacuation and networked fire alarm systems
