About the role
You will engage in the remote programming of Simplex Fire Alarm Systems. This involves working with local offices, design teams, and contracting teams to build complete fire alarm system programs based on construction documents, applicable NFPA standards, and customer contracts.
Responsibilities
- Contact local offices to obtain files needed to build a complete Simplex Fire Alarm System Program.
- Collaborate with the Design Team to secure .csv files and the latest approved drawings.
- Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Apply NFPA standards to develop a complete Fire Alarm System Program tailored to building type, construction type, hazard classification, and architectural features.
- Work closely with district contracting teams to understand customer contracts, scheduling, and installation crew delivery needs.
- Participate in a Microsoft Teams Virtual Environment to share standard processes with the Remote Programming Team.
- Attend weekly Microsoft Teams meetings to discuss backlog and urgent projects.
- Upload completed projects to SharePoint and provide links to Local Offices for downloading to the Fire Alarm Panel.
- Assist Local Technicians during program uploads to resolve any programming-related issues.
- Promote teamwork and develop working relationships with Local Offices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of Simplex Fire Alarm Technician/Programming experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Simplex programmers.
- Ability to interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction documents.
Qualifications
Preferred: NICET Level II or III certification.
Pay
Hourly range: $38.75–$53.13. Rate determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market alignment.
