Fire Alarm Superintendent
About the Role
As a Fire Alarm Field Superintendent, you will have the authority to conduct and direct work to project completion. You will manage the execution of installation projects, ensuring schedules, budgets, and client expectations are met. This role involves performing installations, maintaining quality control during testing and commissioning, and keeping the Project Manager informed on all project specifics. You will uphold processes and be responsible for achieving project objectives while fulfilling stakeholder expectations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee field installations, including direct labor, materials, and expenses.
- Represent Marmic Fire and Safety in field site meetings.
- Maintain necessary equipment and materials to perform work efficiently without lost time.
- Fully understand, follow, and communicate contractual scope.
- Identify out-of-scope work and communicate potential scope changes to the Project Manager and Sales team.
- Effectively deliver scope to technicians and subcontractors.
- Document and communicate project details, including technical writing for clients, managers, and technicians.
- Ensure on-time completion and storage of daily and needs logs.
- Execute close-out documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain weekly updated redline drawings.
- Foster a team environment with positive communication to ensure commitment to safety, integrity, growth, and professionalism.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of alarm experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with installation techniques of electrical and mechanical portions of projects.
- Ability to travel, with potential for extended periods of time.
- Basic understanding of financial principles relative to operations.
- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
- Capability to sit for long periods at a desk and work on a computer.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing more than 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in challenging positions such as climbing ladders, using high-lift equipment, and working in crawl spaces or above ceilings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in NICET Level II in Fire Alarms.
