Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the installation of fire alarm systems including addressable and conventional panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, power supplies, and wiring.
- Read, interpret, and execute work based on approved drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Perform device mounting, wire pulling, terminations, labeling, and system programming support (as applicable).
- Conduct system testing, pre-testing, and commissioning activities prior to AHJ inspections.
- Troubleshoot system issues, verify device operation, and correct deficiencies.
- Supervise and direct installers on job sites.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
- Train and mentor less experienced technicians in proper installation methods and code compliance.
- Complete daily reports, time tracking, and material usage documentation.
Education And/or Experience
- A high school diploma and 4–7 years of fire alarm installation experience, with prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of fire alarm systems, components, and installation practices.
- Ability to read blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics.
- NICET or other fire alarm certifications preferred.
- Experience with addressable systems (e.g., Notifier, Simplex, Edwards, Siemens, Honeywell, Bosch).
Computer Skills
- Microsoft Office applications, Word & Excel.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to work at heights and on active construction sites.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Field-based role at commercial, industrial, and residential job sites, exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and construction environments.
- Overtime or travel between job sites required.
