About the role
Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, seeks an individual to assist in the installation of electronic product lines and standard electronic systems.
Responsibilities
- Assists the responsible person in performing the required duties for install related tasks for electronic product lines and standard electronic systems.
- Observes the actions of the responsible person(s) and applies as directed.
- Helping with installation of electronic systems, including start up through final testing.
- Follow verbal and written instruction, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation activities.
- Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with SimplexGrinnell work.
- Wear appropriate safety equipment as required, including but not limited to hard hats and work boots.
- May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
- Daily submission of required paperwork.
Requirements
- 1 year of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation activities
- Construction experience required
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Successful completion of drug screen and background check
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly
Qualifications
- Experience in an electrical trade preferred
- Low voltage experience is a plus
