Fire Alarm Inspector-
Alarm Inspection & Maintenance Services Inc. specializes in fire and life safety, providing comprehensive inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, monitoring, and installation of fire alarm and sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with codes.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV Systems, as well as other related building system products at customer sites.
- Perform panel repair/reprogramming, device replacement/repair, and resolve low voltage circuit issues.
- Organize and utilize technical resources, information, materials, and support to ensure efficient execution of assigned tasks.
- Install cabling and program fire alarm, security, and access control system panels, with a primary focus on networked fire alarm systems.
- Perform installation and programming on integrated security and fire alarm systems.
- Use a digital multi-meter to troubleshoot ground faults, shorts, and open circuits on fire alarm systems.
- Respond to customer service calls promptly, troubleshoot, and perform repairs as needed.
- Participate in an after-hours service program on a rotational basis.
- Communicate with central dispatch regarding work order status and receive updates on outstanding customer issues.
- Supervise and inspect equipment installation to meet customer and contract specifications.
- Complete required certification courses on internal and external products used.
- Submit all task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
Requirements
- Experience with installing, programming, troubleshooting, configuring, commissioning, and servicing Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV Systems.
- Ability to perform panel repair/reprogramming, device replacement/repair, and resolve low voltage circuit issues.
- Proficiency in using a digital multi-meter for troubleshooting fire alarm systems.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with dispatch and customers.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Willingness to participate in an after-hours service program on a rotational basis.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Schedule
This is a contract position based in Pittsburgh, PA, and is fully onsite. The position is anticipated to close on September 2, 2026.
