Fire Alarm Helper - Suffolk, VA

Job Summary

Assists in the installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems. Works closely with Fire Alarm Technicians and Electricians to ensure all work is performed in a safe, compliant, and accurate manner following company and customer standards and codes.

• Assists Fire Alarm Technicians and Electricians with installing fire alarm system components, including devices, cable pathways, conduit, and wiring
• Pulls, labels, and routes low-voltage cabling as directed
• Assists with the proper mounting and installation of assigned work conduit, wires, and strapping as directed
• Support system testing, inspection, and troubleshooting under the guidance of a technician
• Maintains tools, materials, and job site cleanliness
• Works from all types of ladders
• Complies with all company and customer safety policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months recent fire alarm/electrical experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• OSHA 10 or ability to obtain
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
