FINRA Legal Extern, Enforcement (UNPAID) - 2027 SPRING SEMESTER

About the role

Legal externs work closely with Enforcement’s attorneys, investigators and management to assist Enforcement in investigating and determining whether FINRA regulated firms and/or associated individuals violated federal securities laws, FINRA, or MSRB rules. Externs perform legal research and writing, document review, and help prepare staff for on‑the‑record testimony. They may observe on‑the‑record interviews and settlement negotiations, attend departmental meetings, and participate in trainings to build skills and knowledge. Note: externs are not eligible for permanent attorney positions following graduation.

• Must earn academic credit (at least one credit as required by FINRA); cannot be a pure volunteer
