Responsibilities

  • Set up and run folder/gluer machines to produce cartons meeting customer specifications.
  • Maintain equipment and track production schedule.
  • Give special instructions to catchers and enter job information into the Radius computer program.
  • Communicate and correct quality issues with plant leadership.
  • Prepare make-ready of the feeder unit.
  • Operate the folder/gluer machine to fold and glue various types of folding cartons.
  • Read and respond to scheduling software to define machine set-up.
  • Assist with all associated set-up tasks as directed by the Folder Operator.
  • Locate stock, loads, load and stack according to size, shape, quantity to support machine efficiency.
  • Perform quality checks as required and report deficiencies to plant leadership.
  • Maintain machine work records and update on a timely basis.
  • Monitor equipment status and brief plant leadership as needed.
  • Work around equipment and use tools to set up the folder/gluer machine.
  • Report any missing, broken, bent, or worn parts to supervisor or maintenance personnel.
  • Keep the area clean and assist in set-up of the equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • At least 1 year of paperboard folding carton industry or similar print/packaging experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience on a folder-gluer machine.
  • Basic computer skills to read work instructions, record job data, follow work schedule, and communicate via email.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and flexible, adaptable, and teamwork-oriented.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to stand and move about the work station throughout the day.
  • Ability to respond to continually changing priorities and coordinate multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, 1 year of paperboard folding carton industry or similar print/packaging experience, minimum of 1 year of experience on a folder-gluer machine, communication skills, mathematical skills, reasoning ability, basic computer skills, and good mechanical aptitude.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of consistent experience working with folding equipment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay

Pay is based on a variety of complex factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position on second shift (3:00PM-11:00PM Eastern Time Monday-Friday). However, changes in manufacturing needs and schedules may necessitate a change to the original agreed upon hours, or the working of additional, overtime hours. Every effort will be made to give advance notice of any permanent changes.
