Finishing Machine Operator

About the role

This position is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of bindery and print finishing machinery in a high-volume print and mail processing environment.

Schedule

Full-time: Monday – Friday, 10:00 am - 6:30 pm. Overtime is scheduled as needed, and could require coming in earlier, staying later, and working weekend shifts during high-volume production cycles.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set-up machinery that performs print finishing operations, such as, inserting, folding, cutting, tabbing, stamping, UV coating, booklet making, and inkjet printing.
• Learn and follow all established quality control procedures to consistently produce with accuracy.
• Flexibility in work schedule, frequently 10 or more hours per day and some weekend shifts, is required on a recurring basis.
• Additional work, as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have related experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, production, or related environment.
• Bindery experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of GEP Finishing Systems is a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Flexibility in work schedule to work overtime when needed is required.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous standing, walking and movement of the upper body for up to 10 hours a day.
• Regularly required to use hands and/or fingers to grasp, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
• Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must frequently lift, move, pull, and push up to 40 pounds.
• Specific visions required by this job include close, distance, accurate color, peripheral vision, and focus adjustments.

Hiring pay range (hourly paid): $18.00
