About The Opportunity
The Group Leader – Finishing provides guidance to department employees in the Supervisor’s absence, ensuring organized workflow, high-quality production, and proper staffing. This role sets an example in safety compliance, attendance, and overtime participation.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to GMP guidelines, monitor quality standards, and maintain accurate production records.
- Read and interpret work orders to ensure properly performed products.
- Communicate information to employees, shift supervisors, and the next shift’s group leader or machine operator.
- Maximize production efficiency with planned work assignments and maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Train new operators and oversee general preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Operate equipment as needed to maintain productivity during operator absences.
- Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance systems, and job reporting requirements.
- Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a production environment with moving equipment and people.
Schedule
2nd Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Pay
Shift Differential: $2.00 per hour in addition to the base rate of pay.
