Finishing Helper

About the role

We are seeking candidates to join our Finishing Department as a Feeder Tender. This is a skilled trade position offering opportunities for career advancement through on-the-job training and job progression. Machine Operators and Technicians in our facilities earn between $12.09 and $30.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Feed cartons into machine bed
• Pick up cartons from conveyor and stack into baskets or cases
• Push control button to activate end loader
• Check cartons for quality

Requirements

• Excellent attendance
• Ability to work independently
• Mechanical skills; must pass pre-employment Mechanical Assessment
• High school diploma or GED

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs)
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Schedule

• 8-hour (Monday–Friday) or 12-hour (2-2-3) schedules, including weekends
• Occasional overtime required

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear
• Occasionally required to walk
• Frequently lift or carry 10 to 25 pounds; occasionally lift or carry 26 to 50 pounds
• Must be able to perform both Feeder and Tender functions
• Close and distance vision required

Work Environment

• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally exposed to vibration
• Loud noise level
• Personal Protective Equipment required (hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, hairnet; other PPE as needed for specific tasks)
