Job Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for upkeep and repair of the manufacturing equipment and the infrastructure on site.
- Establish and manage a preventive maintenance program for the manufacturing equipment infrastructure on site.
- Establish and maintain systems to monitor, track and improve operational efficiencies while maintaining planned costs.
- Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to subordinates.
- Provide technical leadership and support for cost reduction efforts and prepare and monitor all maintenance project budgets.
- Establish and utilize Maintenance Management Systems to facilitate maintenance control, analysis, recording and reporting of maintenance activities.
- Perform efficiently in a team-oriented environment and establish a good cooperation with the production managers.
- Develop, and maintain a network of outside contractors, outside consultants, and equipment suppliers.
- Display and utilize analytical and troubleshooting skills for new equipment.
- Keep up to date of new technological developments, recommending applications when warranted by such developments.
- Develop and implement creative solutions to plant operational improvement areas.
- Monitor and upgrade maintenance systems to include downtime analysis and work order control.
- Assess and evaluate performance, development, and motivation of subordinates through the yearly performance appraisal process.
- Enforce employee compliance with all plant and department operating policies and procedures.
- Prioritize maintenance activities and coordinate with subordinates and other parties involved and coordinate with operations to accomplish maintenance activities.
- Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Ensure the maintenance of machines and manufacturing facilities.
- Plan and perform preventive maintenance and major repairs.
- Coordinate and decide on internal and external performance.
- Ensure an adequate spare parts supply and low spare parts inventory.
- Comply and implement the management system (processes and standards).
Job Requirements
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification required.
- An AAS/AS/BS or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a maintenance leadership position, ideally in heavy manufacturing (respective experience in maintenance management processes and systems).
- Skilled in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of manufacturing and infrastructure equipment in the Finishing mill, Quench & temp line, and Threading mill.
- Experienced in building up of complex and successful maintenance organizations.
- Ability to interface with personnel on all levels.
- Ability to make decisions analytically and rationally.
- Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in a maintenance management system (e.g. SAP PM).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proven track record of understanding and coordinating complex technical issues that require the use of project management skills.
- Proficient in mechanical drive systems, hydraulics, pneumatics.
- Basic knowledge of electricity and electronics and PLC fundamentals.
