Finishing Crew Member, 2nd Shift
Owens Corning, a global company with roots in Stokesdale, NC, is seeking dynamic individuals to join our local team.
About the role
The primary purpose of this position is to safely stack materials accurately and meet quality standards for material shipments at our Stokesdale facility.
Responsibilities
- Inspect products for defects and proper paint coverage; receive sign-off on quality control sheets.
- Grade material off the back of the machine to customer specifications.
- Separate unsuitable material that does not meet grade standards.
- Pack products according to customer requirements, including stacking sticks, banding, proper counts, skids, etc.
- Maintain accurate daily paperwork and learn to read/process orders on the display monitor.
- Tie up finished units, tag them properly, and complete putty repairs as needed.
- Repair or re-install weatherstrip if not fully seated.
- Communicate counts and completions of quantities in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to 5S standards.
- Use downtime to clean around all areas of the machine to minimize end-of-shift cleanup.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
Requirements
- Completion of 9th grade and at least 18 years old.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency in performing work duties.
- Complete knowledge of the grade of all products processed through the machine.
- Able to communicate orally and in writing.
- Able to read a tape measure, caliper, and specifications.
- Able to troubleshoot problems.
- Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical adaptability.
Qualifications
- Preferably one year of experience in a manufacturing setting.
Physical Requirements
- Stand for up to 10 hours straight.
- Climb and descend stairs/ladder as needed.
- Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements.
- Able to walk, bend, twist, stoop, climb stairs, and lift approximately 35 lbs.
- Withstand heat in excess of 95 degrees.
- Work in environments with wood dust and aluminum exposure.

Pay
The hourly pay rate for this position is $18.65.
Schedule
- 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM, Monday through Thursday.
- Overtime as needed.
