Responsibilities
- Measure, mark, and arrange materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
- Cut and shape structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
- Cut, fit, and install baseboard, door & window casing, and crown molding according to specific measurements.
- Use various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
- Join materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.
- Ensure the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; correct problems as needed.
- Create wooden forms for pouring concrete or for tunnels, bridges, or sewer construction projects.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding.
- Install windows, cabinets, and doors with the utmost precision.
- Adhere to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2 years of finish carpentry experience.
- Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
- Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
- Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.
- Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.
- Works well as part of a team.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $21.41 - $27.41 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
