About the role
This is a part-time position located in the Chesterfield County Courts Building. Must be able to interact in a polite and professional manner with the public.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and complete processes related to fingerprinting requirements initiated by the appropriate courts or upon citizen requests, utilizing LiveScan automated fingerprinting equipment.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate repair of automated fingerprinting equipment.
- Assist public by answering questions and providing general information.
- Submit weekly report capturing statistical data regarding quantity and type of fingerprints being conducted.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience in general office support work.
- Experience in law enforcement or criminal justice setting preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to plan and coordinate workloads.
- Ability to read; must have excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal fingerprint requirements and procedures preferred.
- Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
- Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months.
- Must be able to pass a polygraph examination.
- Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background investigation, and education/degree verification required.
- This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check.
- This position is considered Critical Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
- The use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited.
Schedule
- Approximately 28 hours/week.
- Monday - Friday.
- 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Pay
- Salary: $19.84 - $26.77 Hourly.
