FINANCIAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST.

About the role

Monitors the Mechanization of Contract Administration Services (MOCAS) system's daily operations to identify problems and opportunities for enhancement, ensuring peak performance and reliability. Analyzes and recommends system changes, preparing all necessary documentation like System Change Requests (SCRs) for the configuration control board. Prepares SCRs and develops documentation required for configuration control board/configuration management information system overview. Oversees the complete testing lifecycle for system changes, from establishing test conditions and user teams to monitoring final implementation. Researches, analyzes, and resolves daily system problems related to system interface, database management, and processing cycles while managing competing priorities.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959)
• Suitable for Federal employment
• Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service
• Obtain/Maintain Financial Management Certification

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as:

• Demonstrated knowledge of automated systems design and processing principles, techniques, policies, and regulations related to finance and accounting operations
• Identifying, documenting, and recommending financial systems requirements
• Recommending solutions to issues related to the integration of financial systems
