Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed financial analysis, budget preparation and execution services, funds tracking and allocation, and other related services.
  • Develop and manipulate pivot tables, create and edit macros, and link and embed multiple spreadsheets in MS Excel.
  • Develop budget analyses and recommendations and present findings to branch, division, project, and department management.
  • Create network activities and run reports, process labor and non-labor transfers, and provide support in the processing of incoming and outgoing funding documents.
  • Integrate data using systems, established business practices, and approved software applications within the DON.
  • Verify the accuracy of accounting data within the business and financial system.
  • Assist with financial transaction reconciliation, coordinate with departments and branch personnel, gather and review supporting documents required for the management of funds, and ensure funding document packages are complete, organized, and stored appropriately.
  • Conduct follow-up actions for funding documentation and assist program analysts with tasking, work assignments, and data calls.
  • Analyze, extract, and identify significant trends and issues from financial spreadsheets.
  • Maintain and update logs and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with financial assignment and data calls.

Requirements

  • Advanced MS Excel skills including linking and embedding multiple spreadsheets, developing and manipulating pivot tables, and creating and editing macros.
  • Ability to work independently, providing professional financial analysis and tracking for multiple branches, divisions, and projects.
  • Ability to write, speak, and understand English and write clear, detailed reports.
  • Experience with N-ERP reports and modules.
  • Experience with U.S. Navy and NSWC PHD processes and systems.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Business discipline and 3+ years directly related experience.
  • In lieu of degree, 5 years hands-on experience with Navy financial and administrative systems and procedures.
  • 3-5 years experience in financial and quantitative analysis, MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Knowledge or experience in the DoD or Government environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with N-ERP reports and modules.
  • Experience with U.S. Navy and NSWC PHD processes and systems.
