Insurers across the globe are investing heavily in technology-enabled transformation programs. Several solutions “hot spots” exist today, such as in claims, underwriting, policy and billing. Typical projects will span the following areas of insurance technology-enabled transformation:
- Guidewire System Implementation (Policy, Billing, Claims)
- Enterprise Data Management
- Reinsurance Accounting and Reporting
- Operations/Technology Performance Management and Measurement
- Enterprise Technology Expense Reduction

Responsibilities
- Work directly with clients to transform their business problems into technology solutions, supporting efforts to make their business units more effective and efficient.
- Assist engagement teams through the analysis of specific business requirements for alignment with technology architecture, infrastructure design, vendor selection, and technology implementation plans.
- Advise clients on business process services to identify, assess, manage, and measure organizational capabilities; collaborate with client technology professionals or third-party alliances to implement technology solutions.
- Provide insights and recommendations from data sources to verify solutions meet business requirements and identify new projects or opportunities.
- Collaborate with diverse client engagement teams, mentor junior resources, and foster an innovative, inclusive team environment.
- Remain current on new developments in services capabilities and industry knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Industrial Administration, Business, or a related field and 5+ years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience defining business and technical requirements; or a master’s degree in the same fields and 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience working at a financial services company or comparable experience advising property and casualty insurance carriers on personal or commercial lines of business.
- 2+ years of experience managing and supervising a team of business analysts and technology analysts through all phases of the technology life cycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, conversion, and testing.
- Previous application experience in any of the following: Guidewire, OneShield, Exigen/EIS, Majesco, Duck Creek, Insurity, Sapiens/Adaptik, FirstBest, Business Objects, Cognos, Informatica.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following competencies:
- System and vendor selection and implementation
- Definition of business and technical requirements
- Design of business and technology architecture
- Business intelligence/decision support
- Program/project management and implementation planning (PMO)
- Strong relevant experience in an internal or external business analysis role, including gathering and interpreting business requirements, and developing technical specifications.
- Experience with Agile SCRUM methodology, business analysis methodologies, and documentation standards.
- Knowledge of software engineering methodologies, reporting tools, process flows, data flows, traceability matrices, modeling, and testing strategies.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical writing and client presentations.
- Ability to form relationships with business stakeholders and subject matter experts, helping them envision future states and necessary changes.
- Strategic thinking, demonstrated through researching client inquiries and emerging issues related to regulations, industry practices, and new application technologies.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with management reporting enhancement, business intelligence/decision support, data warehousing/enterprise data design and management, or enterprise application integration.
- Experience with planning and facilitating user acceptance testing and managing associated business relationships.
Pay
The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $142,600 to $261,500. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $171,200 to $297,200. Individual salaries are determined by factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
