Financial Services Risk Consulting Associate - Summer 2027

About the role

Risk Consulting Financial Services Associate at RSM provides value-added services to clientele. You will work across five sectors: Financial Institutions, Capital Markets, Insurance, Specialty Finance (including Fintech), and Asset Management. Projects include internal audits, SOX/compliance work, regulatory compliance, credit review, and financial reporting control projects.

Responsibilities

• Sit in on client meetings and support consulting projects
• Prepare reports on consulting services performed for clients; deliver reports where appropriate and discuss results and recommendations with clients
• Travel to client locations as requested to provide consulting services
• Complete client projects efficiently in accordance with the project timeline and critical dates
• Leverage proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to analyze client information and document results and recommendations
• Attend specific conferences, trainings, & meetings to continue professional development relevant to the role

Requirements

• Pursuing at least a B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university, expected completion by December 2026 or June 2027
• Major in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Data & Analytics, Computer Science, or Business Administration
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
• Travel to assigned client locations may be required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office
• Strong multi-tasking and project management skills
• Ability to work as an effective member of a team
• Must possess a high degree of integrity and professionalism

Qualifications

• Certification or working towards certification as a CPA (preferred but not required)
