About the role

EY's Financial Services EY EDGE practice, part of the FSO, offers comprehensive and specialized tax assistance tailored to the unique needs of clients in the real estate, hospitality, and construction industries. The opportunity involves delivering and managing tax compliance and consulting work for clients, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks such as partnership taxation, REITs taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, and tax compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients and escalate complex tax and client relationship matters as needed
  • Deliver and manage compliance and consulting services to meet deadlines for client deliverables
  • Lead projects and work independently, with guidance in complex situations
  • Support effective long-term client relationships by demonstrating knowledge of the real estate, hospitality, and construction industry
  • Communicate with client tax liaisons, client administration teams, and client trust officers to gather and share information
  • Manage engagement deliverables and team resources to achieve timely and accurate delivery of tax compliance services
  • Provide effective leadership, feedback, and coaching to team members
  • Review and evaluate the work of staff members to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Tax, Law, or Economics, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional services or tax services organization in the financial services industry. Broad exposure to real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, REITs taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, acquisition/disposition planning and structuring, and experience managing budgets, people, and projects are preferred. Additionally, CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or licensed attorney status is beneficial.

Benefits

Base salary range for this role in the US is $104,600 to $191,600, with a higher range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento). Individual salaries are determined based on a variety of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Additional benefits include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a flexible vacation policy.

Pay

$104,600 to $191,600 base salary range in the US, with a higher range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento).

Schedule

Hybrid model with most people in external, client-serving roles expected to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year. Flexible vacation policy allows employees to decide how much vacation time they need based on their personal circumstances.
