About the role
EY EDGE offers a unique opportunity to join the Financial Services Organization (FSO) team. This role involves preparing and delivering tax information reporting, FATCA/CRS reporting, and tax withholding certificate validation for various clients.
Responsibilities
- Support the Customer Tax Operations practice with the preparation and delivery of tax information reporting (1099/1042-S/8804)
- Prepare and validate tax withholding certificates (Forms W-8/9)
- Perform tax withholding reconciliations for engagements with banks, wealth and asset management firms, and insurance companies
- Collaborate with client tax liaisons, tax compliance teams, and other stakeholders to gather required information and obtain client authorizations
- Manage internal and external communications, including requesting and documenting receipt of client authorizations and instructions
- Assist with billing and collections for tax compliance and related services
- Conduct reconciliation of customer demographic data, transaction data, and tax information returns to ensure timely and accurate filing of returns
- Communicate with immediate supervisor and colleagues to obtain guidance and instruction, and discuss recommendations concerning correction of data issues
- Avoid prioritizing assignments to achieve appropriate workflow and timely production of client deliverables
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent)
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in basic computer software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of 1099/1042-S reporting systems
- Understanding of tax withholding certificates (Forms W-8/W-9) and FATCA/CRS Self Certification forms
- Knowledge of tax compliance and information reporting rules
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Prioritization of assignments to achieve appropriate workflow and timely production of client deliverables
Qualifications
- Experience in a professional services environment
- Experience in information reporting and withholding tax laws and concepts
- Experience with tax withholding validation and complete tax withholding certificates
- Experience with FATCA/CRS reporting templates
Skills
- Timely, efficient and accurate support of the production of information reporting in a volume-driven environment
- Understanding of tax withholding certificates (Forms W-8/W-9) and FATCA/CRS Self Certification forms
- Understanding of vendor and client systems that support an tax operations function
- Ability to analyze bridged customer data and transaction information to identify potential errors and omissions
- Ability to apply knowledge of basic tax concepts to make decisions and take action to modify tax reporting coding or reporting
- Ability to communicate with client tax liaisons, tax compliance teams, and other stakeholders to gather required information and obtain instruction or authorization
- Ability to manage internal and external communications, including requesting and documenting receipt of client authorizations and instructions
- Ability to assist with billing and collections for tax compliance and related services
- Ability to assist with reconciliation of customer demographic data, transaction data, and tax information returns to achieve complete, accurate, and timely filing of those returns
- Ability to identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
- Ability to communicate with immediate supervisor and colleagues to obtain guidance and instruction, and discuss recommendations concerning correction of data issues
- Ability to prioritize assignments to achieve appropriate workflow and timely production of client deliverables
Benefits
The base salary range for this role in the US is $58,900 to $97,400. In the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento), the base salary range is $70,800 to $110,500. Individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.

Schedule
Our expectation is for most people in external, client-serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year.
