About the role
EY EDGE offers a unique opportunity to join the Financial Services Organization (FSO) team. This role involves preparing and delivering tax information reporting, FATCA/CRS reporting, and tax withholding certificate validation for various clients including banks, wealth and asset management firms, and insurance companies.
Responsibilities
- Support the Customer Tax Operations practice with the preparation and delivery of tax information reporting (1099/1042-S/8804).
- Prepare and validate tax withholding certificates (Forms W-8/9).
- Conduct reconciliations for tax withholding and reporting.
- Manage internal and external communications regarding client authorizations and instructions.
- Collaborate with client tax liaisons, tax compliance teams, and other stakeholders to gather required information and obtain instructions.
- Assist with billing and collections for tax compliance and related services.
- Support the reconciliation of customer demographic data, transaction data, and tax information returns to ensure timely and accurate filing.
- Communicate with immediate supervisor and colleagues to obtain guidance and instruction, and discuss recommendations for correcting data issues.
- Avoid data issues to support accuracy and consistency in tax reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in basic computer software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of 1099/1042-S reporting systems.
- Understanding of tax withholding certificates (Forms W-8/W-9) and FATCA/CRS Self Certification forms.
- Knowledge of tax compliance and information reporting rules.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritize assignments and manage workflow.
- Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
Skills
- Timely, efficient, and accurate support of information reporting in a volume-driven environment.
- Understanding of tax withholding certificates and FATCA/CRS.
- Basic understanding of vendor and client systems supporting a tax operations function.
- Analyzing bridged customer data and transaction information to identify potential errors and omissions.
- Applying knowledge of basic tax concepts to modify tax reporting coding or reporting.
- Communicating with client tax liaisons, tax compliance teams, and other stakeholders.
- Assisting with training less experienced team members on administrative tasks and tasks supporting the tax compliance process.

Pay
Base salary range for this role in the US is $58,900 to $97,400. In the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento), the range is $70,800 to $110,500.
Schedule
We expect most people in external, client-serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year.
