Financial Services Audit Supervisor
About the role
Withum’s Auditing and Attest Engagement services are the cornerstone of our firm. Our audit and advisory team provides audit services, review and compilation services, and other agreed-upon procedures to clients of various sizes and industries. As a Financial Services Audit Supervisor, you will take a lead role on all aspects of audit engagements, from planning to completion, including supervision and mentoring of staff and building and maintaining client relationships.
This role is based out of our East Brunswick, NJ; Whippany, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Orlando, FL; Boca Raton, FL; or New York City office. You’ll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned CPAs and industry leaders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engagement team in planning and executing audit, review, or compilation engagements to provide world-class client service.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement, including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusion.
- Provide supervision and support to engagement staff, seniors, and supervisors, and promote open communication with the engagement partner.
- Collaborate with engagement team seniors, supervisors, and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for legal, regulatory, and accounting issues arising during an audit.
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines efficiently.
- Create and track engagement budgets to identify and address inefficiencies during the audit.
- Conduct constructive discussions with team members regarding evaluations and provide counsel accordingly.
- Serve as an instructor or discussion leader in professional development programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license.
- At least 3 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
- Experience auditing healthcare systems and hospitals is preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including familiarity with US GAAP.
- Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects.
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to travel as needed based on client assignments.
Pay
- New York City: $90,000 – $165,000 annually
- East Brunswick: $85,000 – $175,000 annually
- Orlando: $85,000 – $130,000 annually
- Red Bank: $85,000 – $140,000 annually
- Whippany: $100,000 – $135,000 annually
- Boca Raton: $85,000 – $130,000 annually
In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors, including the specific role, hiring location, and the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
