About the role

The Financial Sales Representative (FSR) is responsible for selling the bank's products and services to existing and new prospects. The FSR handles the new accounts function of the Business Financial Center, identifies sales opportunities, makes appropriate referrals, and meets or exceeds personal sales goals while achieving the bank's cross-sales goals. The FSR retains and develops commercial business relationships, leading to business checking accounts and other service products. The role assists in managing the Center to ensure retention of existing relationships and growth of new relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with and stays abreast of all policies, procedures, federal, and state laws applicable to the job.
  • Must be certified in the Financial Sales Representative Program and participate in the Sales Incentive Program.
  • Opens new accounts and maintains existing accounts according to established bank policies and procedures.
  • Consults with customers and prospects to identify products and services that meet financial objectives.
  • Sells and cross-sells bank products and services to existing and potential customers.
  • Participates in all Center functions to contribute to earnings and growth objectives.
  • Engages in community and civic activities to enhance customer relationships and attract new business.
  • Conducts telemarketing to existing and potential customers for account servicing and additional sales opportunities.
  • Assists in managing the Center’s sales and service efforts to retain existing relationships and grow new ones.
  • Pursues appropriate follow-up for new and existing relationships within the Business Financial Center.
  • Participates in sales meetings and training programs to refine product knowledge and selling skills.
  • Ensures proper documentation requirements are met for all accounts.
  • Utilizes Chexsystems and OFAC as part of new account opening procedures.
  • Processes and maintains accurate CIP (Customer Identification Program) information.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Commits to teamwork and focuses on delivering The Citizens Experience.
  • Actively participates in product knowledge and customer experience initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; minimum of one year of new accounts experience in a financial institution.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and computation of rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but straightforward instructions.
  • Ability to handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to sit.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment is typically moderate in noise level.
