About the Role
The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations at the assigned facilities.
Responsibilities
- Leads the facilities’ closing process and ensures financial reporting meets corporate deadlines and complies with corporate policies.
- Produces periodic financial reports; ensures the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and international financial reporting standards.
- Performs analyses and prepares accounting journal entries related to numerous areas (prepaids, accruals, payroll, inventory, etc.).
- Performs monthly account reconciliations.
- Produces budgets and forecasts; follows up on deviations.
- Leads the development of quarterly forecasts for assigned locations.
- Analyzes actual results vs. forecasts and prepares variance analyses. Identifies financial trends, risks, and opportunities, providing recommendations for action.
- Partners with operations to analyze various production metrics.
- Prepares and presents ad hoc cost analyses and reports.
- Reconciles inventory balances across ERP system and physical counts.
- Analyzes and reports inventory reserves (slow-moving, obsolete).
- Provides cost data for make-vs-buy decisions, pricing updates, and profitability analysis.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- Five years or more of related experience required.
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new technologies.
- Experience with (Infor) Visual ERP is a plus.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Able to travel as needed.
