Responsibilities
Team Support & Workflow Management: Partner with the Regional Director and Associate Director of Financial Planning to manage team workflows, ensuring timely plan delivery and overseeing planning coverage. This includes coordinating schedules, approving time off, and ensuring client plans are completed on time.
Training Program Development: Implement an onboarding program for new hires in the region and provide ongoing training for current team members. Regularly check in with new hires to assess progress and ensure consistent training.
Performance Review & Mentorship: Conduct performance reviews for the team, including regular check-ins for mentorship, providing constructive feedback, and supporting professional development. Help team members identify strengths, opportunities for growth, and career development paths.
Complex Planning Expertise: Stay informed on industry trends, particularly changes in tax laws, to ensure your team’s advice remains at the cutting edge. Collaborate with advisors to align financial planning strategies with clients’ long-term objectives, focusing on improving both the advisor and client experience.
Process & Systems Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvements in internal processes and systems to increase team efficiency and enhance client satisfaction. Work with senior leadership to implement new processes across the team, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with firm practices and policies.
Hiring & Recruiting: Participate in interviews for the Senior Financial Planner, Financial Planning Associate, and Financial Planning Intern positions. Team Capacity Management: Oversee and continue to enhance the use of Tableau and other tools to manage team capacity, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Legislative Awareness: Stay updated on legislation changes (e.g., SECURE Act 2.0) and educate the firm on potential impacts. Software & Process Improvements: Evaluate and implement updates to the financial planning tools and software used by the team, ensuring they remain efficient and effective.
Service Offering Development: Lead the development of new service offerings tailored to the regional client base, enhancing the firm’s capabilities in wealth management. Client & Centers of Influence Engagement: Lead client seminars and local events in the region to build relationships and provide educational support. Actively support meetings to implement financial strategies for clients.
Collaboration with Centers of Influence: Work with local Centers of Influence to implement action plans for clients, ensuring smooth execution and strong client satisfaction.
Qualifications
Certified Financial Planner designation required, with an additional area of specialty or advanced certification preferred.
Minimum of 7+ years of client-facing experience in financial services, including advanced knowledge in tax and estate planning.
Proven experience in managing and developing a team, with a focus on coaching, mentorship, and resolving personnel issues.
Expertise in financial planning softwares such as: Zoom, PractiFi, MyComplianceOffice, Microsoft Teams/Office Suite, Tamarac, eMoney, Money Guide Pro, Social Security Analyzer, Advisys, MBS Highway, Zilculator, Holistiplan, Planner CS, Monday.com
Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts to clients and internal teams.
High attention to detail, with an ability to provide accurate, reliable financial advice.
Ability to work independently, make decisions with minimal supervision, and use discretion when dealing with sensitive matters.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of identifying potential challenges and developing quick, effective solutions to maintain workflow efficiency and client satisfaction.
Undergraduate degree required.
