About the Role
Partners with a Financial Advisor to deliver tailored financial planning and investment guidance to clients and prospects.
Responsibilities
- Review clients’ current portfolio design and understand client goals.
- Enter client data and conduct financial analysis.
- Evaluate overall individual and employer-based retirement needs; research options and recommend planning alternatives.
- Research and provide recommendations related to risk management concerns, including insurance.
- Design and recommend a tailored financial analysis or comprehensive financial plan that meets short- and long-term client needs and goals.
- Prepare presentations that clearly communicate recommendations and alternatives.
- Perform detailed document reviews and analyze client information across the financial-planning spectrum to develop plan observations and recommendations.
- Research information on a case-by-case basis and write customized financial-plan observations and recommendations for each client.
- Prepare files for meetings with existing and new clients.
- Coordinate and follow through on all needed client communication.
- Continuously monitor clients’ financial situations with detail and accuracy.
- Respond to client questions by telephone, email, and occasional personal visits.
- Educate clients on the functions of various securities markets and the principal factors that affect them.
- Provide guidance on estate-planning options and techniques.
- Respond to and direct education-funding questions, including 529 savings plans.
- Assist with guidance on small-business planning.
- Conduct research related to assigned client cases, including basic income-tax questions and other legal issues; request guidance when appropriate.
- May participate in client presentations.
- May open, transfer, and close customer accounts and maintain appropriate account records.
- May obtain and verify client purchase and sale instructions, enter orders, and follow up on completion of transactions.
- Ensure firm and regulatory policies are followed within compliance standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
- Three years’ experience in the financial-services industry with an emphasis on financial, retirement, and estate planning or in marketing these services.
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) license required; exemption or grandfathering may apply.
- Series 7 license required.
- Series 63, 65, and/or 66 as required by state or ability to obtain within six months.
Pay
Salary range: $35,568.00 – $43,750.00.
