About the role

A Financial Planning Associate at Perigon Wealth Management provides technical support for the Wealth Advisor (lead advisor) or Service Advisor. The associate is responsible for gathering data, modeling, case design, scenario building, plan development, and presentation development. While the associate may participate in client meetings, this role does not involve providing advice. This position offers growth and professional development within a collaborative, client-focused environment. Candidates may reside in Boca Raton, Ridgewood NJ, or Irvine CA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial plans, including gathering data, analyzing financial information, and updating client portfolios.
  • Help manage client inquiries and ensure they are directed to the appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Support the creation of financial plans by preparing various financial analysis reports.
  • Review and analyze client financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Generate investment performance reports and client portfolio updates.
  • Assist in running financial planning software to model different financial scenarios.
  • Conduct research on financial products, market trends, and other relevant financial planning topics.
  • Assist in the preparation of client meeting materials and documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Progress toward or completion of the CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation is a plus, but not required.
  • 0–3 years of experience in financial services or a related field (internships or prior roles in wealth management, insurance, or accounting are advantageous).
  • Familiarity with financial planning software (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuide).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • A team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Enthusiasm for learning about financial planning and a commitment to professional growth.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently uses hands or fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls. The role occasionally requires standing, walking, sitting, and reaching with hands and arms, as well as lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
