Financial Planning Associate
About the role
The Financial Planning Associate position at Blue Trust offers the opportunity for career progression in financial planning through learning and developing technical financial planning expertise. This role involves analyzing confidential client financial information and integrating the company's financial planning philosophy and biblical principles into customized financial plans to help clients achieve their goals.
Principal Accountabilities
- Affords assistance during client meetings, records meeting notes, follows up on meeting details, and addresses client and external advisor inquiries.
- Executes investment management tasks such as trading, tax loss harvesting, re-balancing, and account reviews.
- Supports tax planning by estimating tax withholding settings, planning for cash, securities, or other property gifting opportunities, managing bonus payments, and planning stock option scenarios.
- Continuously enhances knowledge of the financial planning philosophy and biblical principles upon which Blue Trust serves its client base through learning associated scripture memory verses.
- Develops high-quality, accurate, professional, and attractive reports and presentations that integrate a biblical worldview into financial recommendations.
- Displays technical knowledge and competency in various financial areas including education funding, debt management, income tax estimation and minimization, charitable giving, cash flow, retirement, insurance, and estate planning.
- Demonstrates proficiency in specialized office programs and competencies in utilizing software applications specific to the company, such as eMoney and Salentica (CRM).
- Exhibits a strong understanding of the company's core values and approaches work, interactions, and relationships accordingly.
- Maintains the highest compliance standards by adhering to the company's Human Resource guidelines, Compliance policies and procedures, professional designation standards, and industry's regulatory standards to mitigate risk to the company.

Education, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field is required.
- Prior experience in financial planning, taxes, or accounting is preferred but not required.
- The ideal candidate should be interested in or actively pursuing the Certified Financial Planner® designation.
- Additional education and credentials such as MBA, ChFC, CPA, etc., are a plus.
- Licenses to sell securities or insurance must be surrendered after leaving the previous employer.
Travel Requirements
This position may occasionally require travel by car or other reasonable means of transportation to ensure clients are served according to the division's client service model.
