Financial Planning Analyst – Commerce Trust

About the role
The main purpose of this job is to support the development and delivery of financial plans, which identify areas of financial needs for the high-net-worth clients at Commerce. Commerce Trust is a division of Commerce Bank and a leading provider of wealth management services including financial planning, estate and tax planning, investment management, private banking, and trust administration services.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the financial planners by executing the development of comprehensive financial plans
- Review financial information collected from clients/prospects, and upload data into the planning software
- Manage the workflow of multiple financial plan projects in different stages at the same time
- Conduct research on a wide variety of financial planning topics as needed, and implement the findings into the plan analysis
- Lead or assist in projects at the discretion of the team leader
- Organize high volume of information and maintain libraries of digital data
- Communicate effectively to collaborate with internal partners on financial planning projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Intermediate understanding of financial services with practical knowledge of basic financial planning topics and skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate a wide range of information in various formats
- Ability to produce work with the highest level of accuracy
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; degree in business, finance, accounting, or financial planning preferred
- 1+ year of working or internship experience in the financial industry preferred
- Ability to obtain Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation within 3 years preferred
Pay
Compensation range: $26.70 - $31.50 per hour, based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.
