Financial Planning Analyst

About the role

The FP&A Analyst is responsible for supporting the company’s strategic goals and objectives within the Financial Planning & Analysis and Treasury group from our Houston office. The position supports cash flow forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, treasury activities, and A&D evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Support FP&A and Treasury objectives.
  • Assist with annual budget process, forecast updates, production and capital performance tracking, and variance analysis.
  • Assist with acquisition, divestiture, and business development analyses, including financial modeling, valuation support, and presentation materials.
  • Prepare executive and board materials.
  • Provide reporting to leadership.
  • Monitor bank accounts, cash receipts/disbursements and cash flow forecasts.
  • Support debt administration, covenant calculations and treasury reporting.
  • Maintain respectful and productive working relationships within and across all work groups, ensuring effective collaboration and cooperation.

  • Perform other duties and projects assigned to support the success of the department and company.

Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Financial modeling and accounting knowledge.
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively converse with all levels of the company, customers, business associates.
  • Professional integrity and accountability.
  • Work in fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or similar.
  • 2+ years finance/accounting experience.
  • Oil & Gas experience preferred.
  • 2+ years analytical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Oil and Gas Exploration & Production.
  • Experience with Concur.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, Oil & Gas accounting and GAAP principles.
  • Previous experience with cash management and treasury duties.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Previous experience with variance analysis.
  • 2+ years of complex analytical experience in the Oil and Gas industry.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled office and routinely use standard office equipment.

Travel

Up to 5%, as business requires.

Physical Requirements

  • Remain in a seated position: 80% of work time.
  • Speak and hear clearly: 100% of work time.
  • Lift office products and supplies, up to 20lbs.: 10% of work time.
  • Stoop, kneel, bend and reach: 10% of work time.
  • Dexterity to write and manipulate keyboard and mouse: 100% of work time.

Schedule

This position is eligible for a 9/80 hybrid work schedule after 30-days of employment. Work is performed at office on Tuesdays through Thursdays, remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
