Salary Range: $107,500.00 - $119,600.00 (as required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018)
About the Role
Under guidance, manages the financial activities and daily operations within the Cardiology department.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the development of business plans.
- Monitors financial outcomes of approved business plans and makes recommendations for business plan revision to align income and expenses.
- Prepares financial documents in support of recommendations.
- Utilizes financial reports to develop action plans aimed at maintaining or improving financial and/or operational performance.
- Assists in the preparation of the annual budget submission and projections.
- Supports and monitors research-related financial activities to ensure compliance with institutional and funding agency regulations.
- Oversees and/or approves procurement and disbursement/reimbursement activities.
- Ensures proper internal controls are in place around financial transactions.
- Resolves any financial issues as needed.
- Tracks income and identifies outstanding revenue receivables.
- Manages the financial activity of grant portfolios, including pre- and post-award grant management activities.
- Ensures compliance of departmental research effort reporting activities.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory audits/inspections and/or internal reviews.
- Develops and recommends corrective action plans to address deficiencies identified.
- May serve as liaison to audit team(s) during on-site visits.
- Participates in departmental space planning and coordinates relocation of offices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Approximately 4 years of related experience, preferably in an academic healthcare or research setting.
- Demonstrated experience with budget and strategic financial planning.
