Financial Manager

Location: Upper East Side, NYC

Exemption Status: Exempt • Weekly Hours: 35

Salary Range: $107,500.00 - $119,600.00 (as required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018)

About the Role

Under guidance, manages the financial activities and daily operations within the Cardiology department.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the development of business plans.
• Monitors financial outcomes of approved business plans and makes recommendations for business plan revision to align income and expenses.
• Prepares financial documents in support of recommendations.
• Utilizes financial reports to develop action plans aimed at maintaining or improving financial and/or operational performance.
• Assists in the preparation of the annual budget submission and projections.
• Supports and monitors research-related financial activities to ensure compliance with institutional and funding agency regulations.
• Oversees and/or approves procurement and disbursement/reimbursement activities.
• Ensures proper internal controls are in place around financial transactions.
• Resolves any financial issues as needed.
• Tracks income and identifies outstanding revenue receivables.
• Manages the financial activity of grant portfolios, including pre- and post-award grant management activities.
• Ensures compliance of departmental research effort reporting activities.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory audits/inspections and/or internal reviews.
• Develops and recommends corrective action plans to address deficiencies identified.
• May serve as liaison to audit team(s) during on-site visits.
• Participates in departmental space planning and coordinates relocation of offices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Approximately 4 years of related experience, preferably in an academic healthcare or research setting.
• Demonstrated experience with budget and strategic financial planning.
