About the Role

Future focused and always one step ahead. This position will provide direction and guidance to the Munich Re US (MRUS) Financial Insights & Portfolio Steering team regarding internal data, results monitoring, renewal monitoring, financial analysis, and planning. In addition, this position will participate in projects to enhance processes, information, and communication within the unit and across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee MRUS’s financial and management reporting function and staff.
  • Manage and control all divisional reporting requirements and data quality control metrics including plan, quarterly renewal monitoring, risk transfer testing, financial analyses, and results monitoring.
  • Steer the development of analytical tools including the development and adoption of dashboards.
  • Act as a liaison between MRUS and Corporate Reserving.
  • Monitor the pricing/reserving gap, identify deviations, facilitate discussions between seasoned members of each department, and support additional analyses as required.
  • Lead the portfolio steering/optimization process, coordinating information from across the organization including Corporate Reserving, Corporate Pricing, Claims, MRUS Market Intelligence, and MRUS Senior Management into actionable steps to maximize portfolio profitability.
  • Produce analytics and data visualizations to generate evidence and business insights to enable optimal decision-making and communication to stakeholders.
  • Lead special projects that serve to enhance processes and cross-functional communication within the business unit and across the organization.
  • Present project findings to a diverse set of stakeholders, lead implementation, and execution of identified action steps.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of insurance/reinsurance experience with significant exposure to the actuarial, financial, and underwriting disciplines.
  • Demonstrated strong technical, analytical, and business skills.
  • Ability to incorporate qualitative information/analyses into quantitative analysis.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, project management skills, and anticipatory thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence.
  • Independent thinker and self-starter with demonstrated self-motivation, creativity, and a strong focus on solutions and results.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

The company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including Princeton (NJ).

Pay

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $175,800 - $296,100 plus opportunity for a company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have, and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
