Financial Investigator

About the role

Support the Drug Enforcement Administration Diversion Control Division, a federal law enforcement agency, in the analysis of complex financial and business records to aid federal diversion-related investigations, prosecutions, and the seizure and forfeiture of illegally derived property.

Organize and conduct detailed examinations of information generated during complex financial criminal and civil investigations, as well as data from alternative sources, to perform financial analyses of personal and business assets of targeted organizations and individuals.

Utilize findings from financial analyses to prepare documentation for law enforcement personnel pursuing civil and criminal matters.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial and business records to support federal diversion investigations.
• Conduct detailed examinations of financial data from investigations and alternative sources.
• Perform financial analyses of assets belonging to targeted organizations and individuals.
• Prepare documentation based on financial analysis for use in civil and criminal proceedings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent (e.g., high school diploma + 4 years of relevant experience or associate’s degree + 2 years of relevant experience).
• 5 years of criminal investigative experience, with a minimum of 2 years in financial investigations.
• Working knowledge of current financial investigation techniques.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required.
