Principal Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver monthly group workshops (virtually and in-person) on financial scam awareness and help older adults understand their personal risk.
- Educate participants on identifying, evaluating, and responding to financial scams.
- Provide life skills training that includes practical strategies and tools for protecting and managing personal finances including money management.
- Work with Geriatric Services staff to connect participants to additional resources to stay safe.
- Create and maintain plain-language materials and toolkits tailored for older adults and culturally diverse audiences.
- Track attendance, participant feedback and skill gain to measure program impact.
- Participate in monthly coordination meetings to align program objectives and participant needs.
Competencies
- Experience designing and facilitating group trainings for older adults or vulnerable populations.
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into action steps and practical tools.
- Patience and ability to manage clients with complex and multiple needs.
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative to seek out information and resources to support client needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Skill and Education
- Certification or formal training in financial education, financial coaching or related fields (i.e. CFEI).
- Knowledge of fraud prevention, asset protection, and benefits/entitlements navigation.
