About the role

The Director of Finance will lead the company’s financial planning, reporting, and performance management functions while helping build a more scalable and data-driven finance organization. A key priority will be improving forecasting, KPI visibility, profitability analysis, cash-flow management, and executive reporting across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and long-range financial planning while providing the CEO and senior leadership with clear visibility into business performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead a lean Finance and Accounting team, maintaining strong accounting, reporting, controls, audit, tax, banking, and risk-management disciplines.
  • Build profitability visibility across products, customers, and channels, including wholesale, e-commerce, DTC, and retail, analyzing revenue, COGS, gross margin, operating expenses, and ROI.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain on inventory valuation, product costing, purchasing, vendor terms, logistics, working capital, and overall supply chain economics.
  • Develop executive dashboards, KPIs, and operating reports that translate financial and operational data into actionable recommendations and faster decision-making.
  • Optimize financial systems, automation, and reporting processes to improve data integrity, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Manage key external relationships, including banking, insurance, accounting, and legal providers.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives, including new business opportunities, channel expansion, capital expenditures, and other investments.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including senior-level leadership as a Director of Finance, VP Finance, Controller, or comparable role.
  • Experience within consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, retail, or another inventory-intensive environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a multi-channel business, ideally including wholesale, e-commerce/DTC, and retail.
  • Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow, and working-capital expertise.
  • Deep understanding of inventory, product costing, COGS, gross margin, supply chain, and purchasing economics.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear recommendations and measurable business actions.
  • Experience improving financial systems, reporting processes, and automation; Oracle NetSuite strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
