Core Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight
- Review monthly financials prepared by outsourced accounting
- Maintain internal controls and financial policies
- Ensure clean documentation and audit-ready files
- Provide direction to the Accounting Support Specialist
- Audit, Tax & Compliance
- Lead the annual audit supported by outside accounting firm
- Cook up 990/990-T and state filings
- Oversee regulatory filings and compliance requirements
- Manage loan covenant and reserve-fund reporting
- Enhance internal controls, policies, and best practices related to real estate finance
- Cash Flow & Treasury
- Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts
- Monitor liquidity and payment timing
- Support banking relationships
- Budgeting & Analysis
- Build annual budgets and rolling forecasts for RMF, CHI, and subsidiaries
- Provide variance analysis and financial insights
- Support pricing and long-term planning
- Real-Estate & Lending
- Included in base role: Maintain loan schedules and compliance
- Maintain acquisition documentation
- Support 501(c)(7) lending and service committees
- Outside Consulting Work
- New acquisitions (underwriting, modeling, due diligence, lender/title coordination, committee materials, closing support)
- New loan originations (borrower review, underwriting, collateral verification, committee materials, closing support)
- 7+ years progressive accounting/finance experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge
- Real-estate finance experience required
- Experience with nonprofits or small organizations preferred
- Strong financial modeling and Excel/Sheets skills
- Experience working with outsourced accounting teams
- Clear communicator; steady, reliable, detail-oriented
- Familiarity with fraternal organizations, Greek housing, or 501(c)(7) entities preferred
- Working knowledge of captive insurance programs — captive accounting, reserves, regulatory reporting, and related risk-financing structures (strongly preferred)
- Reports to the CEO, with significant exposure to the Board and its committees
- Independent contractor (1099) engagement; not an employee position
- 2–3 days per week; $50,000 annual retainer
- Acquisition and loan origination projects compensated separately as consulting fees
- Based in Pensacola, Florida
