Financial Director
Monterey One Water is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to serve as their new Director of Finance. As a key member of the Agency's executive team, this role provides big-picture financial oversight with a focus on long-term planning and analysis, budget management, and investment strategy. The Director will oversee three direct and 11 indirect staff and manage the Agency’s annual budget of approximately $151 million, ensuring the long-term financial health of Monterey One Water across multiple enterprise funds.
About the role
The ideal candidate will be an experienced government finance administrator with a history of exceptional board/council relations and transparent communication at all levels. The Director will drive change, modernize financial processes and systems, and collaborate on implementing a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Prior expertise in managing enterprise funding, grants, and investments is essential, along with strong public speaking skills for data-driven presentations to the Board of Directors. As a leader, the Director will foster collaboration, innovation, and efficiency while supporting staff development.

Pay
Annual salary of $260,000 – $299,000, dependent on experience and qualifications, plus additional incentives.
