Financial Director
About the role
This full-time role provides high-level oversight of the Park District’s financial operations, including budgeting, auditing, payroll, investments and financial reporting. Serving as fiscal officer and an ex officio officer of the Board of Park Commissioners, our finance director also plays a critical role in ensuring transparency, accountability and compliance with Ohio law, overseeing fund accounting and grant tracking, managing treasury functions, and preparing monthly financial statements for the Board.
Responsibilities
- Provides high-level oversight of the Park District’s financial operations, including budgeting, auditing, payroll, investments and financial reporting.
- Serves as fiscal officer and an ex officio officer of the Board of Park Commissioners.
- Ensures transparency, accountability and compliance with Ohio law, overseeing fund accounting and grant tracking.
- Manages treasury functions and prepares monthly financial statements for the Board.
Requirements
- Three to five years of finance leadership experience is required, ideally within local government.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in local government finance preferred.
- Ability to manage confidential information while building strong internal and external relationships.
Skills
- Financial management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Board of Park Commissioners.
Benefits
The position’s annual salary could be anywhere from $88,000 to $129,729.60; experience will be considered.
