Financial Cybersecurity Consultant

About the Role

Bancsec is hiring a full-time Senior Cybersecurity Consultant who can lead security program strategy and perform hands-on assessments—including penetration testing or IT controls reviews. This is a W-2 role with up to 50% travel and requires strong writing skills, client presence, and maturity.

Responsibilities

• Perform external/internal penetration tests or lead IT controls assessments
• Evaluate and advise on security stacks (EDR, IAM, SIEM, etc.)
• Design or mature InfoSec programs (risk, governance, documentation)
• Write clear, executive-ready reports
• Collaborate with principal consultants and client stakeholders
• Travel to client sites as needed (up to 50%)

Requirements

• 7+ years in cybersecurity consulting or strategy
• Hands-on experience in pen testing, audit, or security program development
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills
• Familiar with frameworks like NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS
• Based near a major U.S. airport (East/Central preferred)
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident eligible for W-2 employment
• Willing to travel and undergo background screening

Preferred Qualifications

• CISSP, CISM, OSCP, or similar certifications
• Experience in financial, manufacturing, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with AS/400 or legacy environments

Compensation & Structure

• Compensation: $108,000-$126,000 ($9,000–$10,500/month)
• 3+ weeks PTO
• Travel reimbursement (economy airfare, hotel, meals)
• All terms negotiable for the right candidate
